About Imran Parekh

A highly accomplished and results-driven executive and leader, Imran Parekh has nearly 20 years of experience in fast-paced and high-growth environments. A partner at SAMMIK Consulting, Parekh is an expert in finance, operations, sales, and management in multiple industries and segments, including manufacturing, construction, technology, software, and many others.

Throughout his career, Parekh has been a part of several growing organizations where he has used his analytics and operational acumen to increase visibility, assist in decision-making, and enable business growth. His areas of expertise include improving financial, operational, sales, and business processes for greater efficiencies, financial analysis (trends and predictive analytics), forecasting and budgeting, cash flow management, and optimization, establishing results-driven, easy-to-understand KPIs, financial consolidation, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementations. He is highly comfortable with technology and implementing modern value-added tools, such as Power BI, to assist with operations, resource management, development of high-performing teams, and optimizing operational efficiency and output.

In his career, Parekh has also been extensively involved in strategic planning and vision development. In addition, his executive roles have enabled him to communicate regularly with all internal and external stakeholders, including employees, management, lenders, investors, and the board of directors. He has also worked in global environments, exposing him to multiple business cultures.

Parkeh has significant experience in acquisitions and integrations, having been instrumental in completing ten-plus acquisitions in the past nine years. He is proficient at implementing and managing cost-improvement initiatives and procedures and possesses excellent leadership, communication, and organization skills to lead small, large, and global teams of employees.

A Bespoke Career

Parekh began his career in the packaging world as a Junior Controller for Norampac and
quickly raised to the position of Regional Controller for the U.S. and Mid-Atlantic Canada. He was responsible for the administrative and financial reporting of seven corrugated manufacturing divisions with combined annual revenues of $150 million. During his seven years with Norampac, he oversaw the reduction of inventory levels by $400,000 by introducing systematic tracking mechanisms, supervised combined waste reduction initiatives that generated over $100,000 in monthly savings, and reduced annual costs by $300,000 by merging accounting and administration departments.

Since then, he has been instrumental in turning around companies and growing them.

After Norampac, Parekh joined New England Interstate Container as its Controller. He led the accounting and finance teams for two divisions in New England, which had combined annual revenues of $50 million. Among his many accomplishments with the company, Parekh devised a pricing strategy to increase contributions and assist in overall profitability ($2.5 million over two years).

He also held the position of Controller for Neptune Benson, where he supported five successful acquisitions/integrations, adding $30 million to annual revenues in a private equity-backed environment. Parekh successfully merged two complex businesses (Neptune Benson & Wallace & Tiernan) under one management to align with the corporate structure.

From there, he joined Adaptec Solutions, an industry-leading automation and material handling integration partner, developing custom solutions for the manufacturing industry as Chief Financial Officer. During his five-year tenure with Adaptec Solutions, Parekh was integral to the company’s growth. He also spearheaded three acquisitions’ financial and operational integration during this time.

Business and Finance Is in His DNA

Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Imran Parekh was an avid sports enthusiast. Not surprisingly, he also had a knack for math and business, as he comes from a family of business owners.

At age 19, Parekh came to the United States to attend the University of Michigan, where he received a degree in economics with a minor in math. He also fulfilled his passion and pursued a bachelor’s degree in finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Contributing to Several Nonprofits and Charities

Giving back is important to Imran Parekh. His family has been actively working with the Lions Club International for many years, helping underprivileged families with education and other needs. Parekh donates to a number of charities every year, including Helping Hands, Toys for Tots, Lions Club, Rotary Club, and the Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF).

On the Greens

Away from work, Parekh loves to play golf, a game he took up in 2023 and has improved consistently. His competitive nature and desire to win make golf an ideal sport for Parekh.

The golf course is not the only place Parekh likes to spend his time. He loves to travel with his wife, Huma Kasumbi and has done so extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Parekh loves meeting people and exploring different cultures.
